Well (kind of like my last post), I'm still surprised by how FAR I have to think ahead in this business. Here's what I got at the store today: I made a rosettes color chart over the weekend and I do think they're pretty darling! I've got tons of ideas. (Now if only I could make some things for our ready-made shop Mama Always Said!) I decided this year to just do some general summery ones as well. 2011 was an exciting year, our first full year in business with plenty of ups and downs. I'm pretty thrilled to be moving on to 2012. It signals a lot of important things to me: the ability to really work from home and support my family, the truth that my business is really a full fledged BUSINESS now, the chance to really track our growth since I have a whole year of numbers from last year to compare to. So you got great supplies. You made some beautiful accessories. You sell well at craft shows but when you list your items online nothing happens! Does this sound familiar? I think a lot of home grown businesses face this. There could be a million reasons, but consider this. Are your photos pretty good? If they're just pretty good that's not good enough. There are LOTS of shops with FANTASTIC photos, and you're competing with them! When you sell online that photo is the only thing your customers have to go on. It's the only way to show them approximate size...
