Our shabby pearl flower came to me one day as I was pondering our mini shabby bow trim. I had been thinking about various options of what could be done with it. Eventually I thought of this: My thinking was its a great way to use up those bows in kind of an unusual way. In this tutorial we're going to show you how to make this flower and hopefully it'll spark a little inspiration in your own brain! Here's what you need to collect to complete this project: Its pretty simple. You need a 1.5" felt circle, glue and...

G'morning y'all! My good friend (part time headband cutter/model/lunch buddy) Tavie wrote a fabulous post for the blog this week. I hope you'll read it, and then re-read it and really take it in. Hey guys! This has very little to do with business at the moment, but I'm trying to make sure everyone knows-we are getting married June 16th this summer. The shop will be closed down from the 14th through the 22nd and we will be completely out of the country. 2011 was an exciting year, our first full year in business with plenty of ups and downs. I'm pretty thrilled to be moving on to 2012. It signals a lot of important things to me: the ability to really work from home and support my family, the truth that my business is really a full fledged BUSINESS now, the chance to really track our growth since I have a whole year of numbers from last year to compare to. Its exciting! And frightening. We're already kind of outgrowing our office space (which we just moved into 6 months ago). I'm...

So you got great supplies. You made some beautiful accessories. You sell well at craft shows but when you list your items online nothing happens! Does this sound familiar? I think a lot of home grown businesses face this. There could be a million reasons, but consider this. Are your photos pretty good? If they're just pretty good that's not good enough. There are LOTS of shops with FANTASTIC photos, and you're competing with them! When you sell online that photo is the only thing your customers have to go on. It's the only way to show them approximate size...
